NASA 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Our Invitation to the gala events during NASA's 50th anniversary afforded us an opportunity to renew old friendships with astronauts, test pilots, engineers and technicians we'd worked and partied with all the way back to the early 60's.


I'm the one on the right. Doris was cut out of the photo. The others are old engineering friends from the X-15 program (now management of Lockheed space shuttle and VentureStar programs), and Colonel Frizby, U.S. Air Force retired, now Lockheed.

This is a photo of Doris and I, along with Bill and Leslee, a Lockheed project manager and his wife. The gentleman worked with me at the NASA High Range Tracking Station at Beatty, Nevada during the sixties. He became station chief at the Ely tracking station while I ventured into the NERVA, atomic, and black world of the so-called Area 51.

In this photo Bill and I are joined with a friend Ed Schneider. Ed was Master of Ceremonies during an excellent gala with some very good (and old) friends from our space pioneering days. Ed is a Machbuster - Flew the SR-71 Blackbird for NASA.
